Our custom tied Red Eye Damsels are locally tied, only the best materials/hardware is used and are only available from Venture Fly Fishing Specialist.  They come in the following colour combinations.

Olive Damsel - light olive flash mix head, red eyes, olive body & tail.

Brown Damsel - light brown flash mix head, red eyes, brown body & tail.

Yellow Damsel - light olive flash mix head, red eyes, yellow body & tail.

Tied with a  #12 terrestrial hook. Red glass bead chain and 30lb mono eyes, Marabou and Copper wire for ribbing.

This is a popular fly fishing pattern, particularly in South Africa, designed to mimic the nymphs of the Red-eyed Damselfly. These nymphs are common in many South African waters during spring and summer and are known for their large eyes, well-defined thorax, and slender abdomen. The fly is typically fished slowly on an intermediate line, near or over structure, and can be effective in both shallow and deeper water.
