Our Skagit shooting heads are designed for powerful long distance effortless casting. Shorter length with a more aggressive taper for deeper and smoother loading. Ideal for tight back spaces and casting into strong head winds effortlessly.
Low stretch braided core with a PVC coating with special softener added for super slick performance, shorter more aggressive taper for deeper and smoother loading, a dual tone colour for better timing and distance control.
For the best performance we recommend these spec running lines.
200-400 gr - 0.024''/0.026''/25lb running line.
400-550 gr - 0.030''/0.032''/35lb running line.
550-675 gr - 0.035''/0.037''/44lb running line.
Please note that these Skagit heads are rated for Spey style rods. If you are wanting to use them on traditional rods you would have to go down 2-3wt. eg: if you have an 8wt traditional rod you would need a 6-5wt Skagit head. The colour line will be sent on colour availability.
